Saturday, April 19th, 2008

In 2008 James Cornetet won first place in the AIA Florida Emerging Professional Design Competition for his design for a lightrail station in Tampa, Florida. The project entitled Commuter Assemblage sought to revive the great train stations of the past, which acted as cathedrals to the locomotive engine. The design is an assemblage of various modes of transportation: pedestrian, automobile, bus and train, the design connects these otherwise disparate forms of transportation creating a hormonious network. The competition was juried by Craig Borum and Karl Daubmann the principals of PLY Architecture.
